Sorry to hear that. San Diego also has some displacement. My barn has refugees.

I’m glad to see they’re premium herring heads. I would hate to think of Opus having to survive on surplus heads.

Pickled herring is not bad. I’ve never bought it, but I have eaten it. Mom used to like it.

Even if it doesn’t burn I don’t imagine super heated herring smells all the great.

Oh, and please douse that fire in Bloom County. The smoke is getting thick up at this end of Ballard Street.

As I write this on 12/13, I have finished 6 days of volunteering for 211 San Diego, helping people navigate the Lilac Fire in San Diego. No human fatalities but unfortunately 46 horses died when the fire overran their stables before they could be evacuated.

We folks in Sonoma County know exactly what you are going through. Stay safe and don’t try anything heroic. We learned the hard way that the fire can be on top of you in just a matter of minutes. Thinking good thoughts for all of you down there.

This premium pickled herring wouldn’t happen to be Surströmming by any chance? If it goes, then I think Bloom County would count a an environmental hazard for many years to come.

And here I’d always thought Bloom County was an East Coast liberal enclave. Well, stay outta the hot stuff, BB. And tell Opus to please change out of his pj’s.

    Herring martinis for all!
