The Voices in the Winds of Fall
The days grow chilly, brisk and shortBright colored leaves fall from the treesInside I sit and listen to the voices veiled within the breeze
The voices sing of days gone byOf seasons past and long agoI sit and hear and reminisce carried back as breezes blow
Remember when, remember whenThe voices sing and call to meThink back, think back, of autumns gone, look to the past; see what you see
As I sit warm and safe indoorsI think with fondness of beforeOf fire-colored leaves that make a carpet bright on Nature’s floor
Of sweaters warm and thick and softOf chilly walks in sweet twilightOf ducks and geese all heading south to fly away from winter’s bite
New memories are being madeAs I sit and remember allI know next year I’ll also hear the Voices in the Winds of Fall
