TV: A 15-year-old boy in Washington state suffered burns when he set himself on fire trying to re-enact a stunt from the MTV show "Jackass". And believe it or not, he wasn't white.
The profile is? [White = Clueless]? Of course itâs more complex than that. In the San Gabriel Valley, we also get [DWO = Driving While Oriental], which is too often apt.
I suppose Aaron is doing a little âsee how YOU like itâ stuffâ
a point is made , but it loses itâs edge when you keep making itâŠ.and making itâŠ.and making itâŠâŠ.
I think Mr. McGruder would be happy to see that heâs got so many people reacting to and talking about his work. We all only feel our own pain. Getting a glimpse of othersâ is important. Heâs giving you the opportunity to, if not walk a mile, see what itâs like standing in someone elseâs shoes.
I think The Boondocks is as timely now as it was when it was created. Sure, the names have changed. I just donât think weâve all grown quite as much as weâd like to believe.
numerous negative stereotypes aimed at blacks have been subject in âboondocksâ. very strongly so in the animated series.. if Mcgruder takes some âracistâ jabs, he doesnât limit them to any one race. just an observation. not all that sure what i think about many of these cartoons, so i wonât suggest what anybody else should.( not this time anyway)
Iâm with piksea.
Just now I added a comment to June 24th about how people tend to preach to the choir, and picking a single anecdote as evidence is very satisfying (but doesnât really convince anyone else). I agree with the comment (yesterday?) that everyone feels their own pain/insults/etc more, so everyone feels like theyâre the one getting unfair treatment. We all know that any two people on a crowded sidewalk or highway can feel that way regardless of race, sex, etc.
Aaron McGruder is great at making people look at the truth. Flogging an issue to the point of overkill or ridiculousness is a way to make just about any meaningful point come across and sink in.

My lady says all men are idiots. No profiling there.

This comic is nothing more than pandering, racist garbage. No more Boondocks for me, thanks.

Lew, most men are idiots. Also, most women are idiots. Watch the news sometime, youâll see what I mean.
