Caesar: How's the new anti-RIAA free music web site doing? Huey: Not very good. It's not getting any hits, so it's not having the desired effect. Caesar: Hmmm...let's see what you have on there. Gee, you might try offering a wider selection of music. Huey: What's wrong with public enemy and X-clan?!!
Well, I don’t know X-Clan – but Public Enemy, while I like their attitude and most of what they were saying (when I could make it out), are just painful for a music-lover to listen to.
Music = melody + harmony + rhythm; take away melody & harmony and you have noise.
And would someone please sit all the rappers down and explain “meter” to them? Well, OK, maybe not all – but far too many think you just have to emphasize two words that rhyme; doesn’t matter many or how few syllables are betwixt them.
