I still occasionall McGavin’s swearing when around the young. Also, clever the way the theiving dog episode was moved from Easter in the book to Christmas in the movie.
About the cartoon: a friend of mine once had a cat do that – it waited on top of the upright piano, then grabbed a piece of meat and, without stopping, made its getaway to another room.

Playboy used to publish a lot of Jean Shepherd. I could say I got it for the articles and really mean it.

They’ll be saying “God” and “Jesus” a lot, but I don’t think it’ll be prayer.
