Transcript:
Lupin: There are other cats in the building! Lupin: ... Here's Elvis with more! Elvis: Lupin, Elvis here, where cats have been heard of the ceiling ever since the new neighbors moved in. Lupin: Elvis, how many ceiling cats would you estimate there are? Elvis: 15? 20? It's hard to say, but we should start panicking. Puck: There are 2 of them, Lupin. I've made out 2 voices. Puck: Shh! Listen... Neighbor Cat (female): Tabithia aqui, donde puedo escuchar 3 gatos de piso. Todos varones, creo. Neighbor Cat (male): Tabithia, eso es imposible. Los informes indican al menos 15-20 gatos! Neighbor Cat (female): Sir Figaro Newton, no seas ridiculo! Sola oiga 3! Puck: See? Elvis: I hear at least 30 ceiling cats.

I just read this out loud to my husband and we both cracked up. This is the best strip yet! I may run out of exclamation points!!!A Hispanic radio station. Perfect!

I mean TV station, and she is wearing a suit and pearls! Ooh and is a Tabby with an M on her forehead. And her co-anchor is a Tuxedo. Truly inspired!

Perhaps the gatos are getting ready for Cinco de Mayo! The boys would go crazy if they met the girl cat.

The new upstairs neighbors are ADORABLE! Tabitha and Fig Newton? Is that right? And they’re saying nearly the same thing as our news team, yes?
katina.cooper about 9 years ago
And the ratings war has started. Just wait till the cats upstairs find out that the outside cat, Tommy, is bilingual.

Tabitha is a real beauty! And, as noted, SO well dressed! (I wish our local human news anchors, esp. the weather people, dressed as well!) This is a lovely addition; hope we hear from them regularly. So, I guess Puck is Time and Elvis is Fox News? Ceiling cats….too cute!!! Georgia, old or new, you continue to delight!

They are so true to life in the way news media exaggerate things. It’s kind of like the Freddy Gray story where he was not able to walk before they put him into the ambulance. Now they are reporting that he banged on the walls until he broke his spine. ‘Truth in reporting??’ ,Where is Walter Cronkite when we need him?

There’s only one Ceiling Cat, and he’s watching you. . .

Could someone please translate Tabitha’s first speech for me, please? I understand “Tabitha here”, then something about 3 cats, but the rest is not obvious enough for me. I get the gist of the next 2 panels, I think.
Are these new residents or just visitors?

With my limited Spanish, I could tell that the Hispanic cats thought that there were also 15-20 cats below them.
