Susan, Gopher,Reflecting our bias against the most-watched news network, are we?(speaking as someone whose basic dish programming doesn’t include Fox news – or MSNBC – or much else)

But, it’s not anything to brood over.

Fox News is the only major news outlet that slants right. All the others slant wrong.

I noticed several comments were made referring to “accuracy ratings” or “a recent poll” but did not provide any sources. Alow me to provide more citable information on Fox:

According to a USA Today poll of 1,000 likely voters conducted between Sept. 24th – 28th, Fox News is the most trusted news and commentary source in the nation. Approximately 25% of poll respondents chose Fox over CNN (15%), NBC (10%), CBS (9%), ABC (6%), MSNBC (5%), Comedy Central (4%) and C-SPAN (3%). Approximately a quarter of respondents were Undecided.

Wait, I’m puzzled. You didn’t finish your rant; you left off, “And get off my lawn!”

So, you would decry comments on this board with ad hominem, specifically against “Susan, of all people,” and then proceed with your ugly and highly specific list of why people with opinions and visions of America that may differ from yours are atheistic neo-communists, painting all with the same brush. Interesting, though, how someone (such as Susan Sunshine) can be so clever and funny here every day, yet at the same time – in your eyes, anyway – be so wrong about everything you deem important. It’s as if for some period of time Susan was worthy of your daily attention and laughter, until you found out she might be (gasp) one of THEM. Kind of ironic, wouldn’t ya say? Maybe your liberal radar’s off, because you surely wouldn’t want someone in your clique to know that you shared some modicum of an intellectual bond (however much one can get from a comic) with one of those that are not “good, kind and loving Americans.” If that’s what America now is, then goodbye indeed, because at least some of the “WE” that you euphemistically refer to don’t love that version of it. Just sayin’.

Why do you watch Fox news if you think it is not true?

If a farmer lets a fox guard the henhouse then the fox will eat the hens. That is like letting robbers guard a bank vault.Similar to who is watching the watchers.Moral of the story: do not let a fox guard a henhouse.

And do not let Snuffy Smith guard a henhouse either. The comic works with a generic fox as well as brand name FOX.

    Oh my goodness!

Yes, Gaijinrabbit.. simply devastated.Thank you, and thanks pfei, for defending me… and Dog and gopher and anybody who supported the premise …BUT…. wow.

Please note, my comment was about a news source!

I didn’t say ANYTHING about its bias or lack thereof…Heck, I could be a neocon and still think the clowns at Fox were idiots…. (though I think you guys know I’m not.)

When it comes to those poor souls who trust it…. yeah, I may have called them dumb clucks…it was in keeping with the strip premise, and … OK, I do think they’re naive….Beyond that, I didn’t list all their negative qualities, impugn their patriotism, make assumptions about their politics….call them names, or blame them for the state of the country. There are people among my good friends and family who are of a so-called right-wing bent…We try not to discuss politics…but if we do, we try to keep it rational and kindhearted.Whether or not I agree with the columnists and other opinion pieces they read…when we’re talking about news… real, hard facts…. I doubt any of them trust Fox News as a primary source of information.I am, in my own estimation, a good, kind, loving American….who has religious principles, loves her country, is ethical, and who, yes, I admit…voted for Obama and believes in some things some other people don’t….like universal health care, and apparently, Freedom of Speech and of the Press. And the right to hold opposing beliefs, for BOTH sides.Without that, we’d live in the one-sided totalitarian state Mike R purports to despise, yet seems to support. I can’t believe anyone thinks that my opinion that Fox News is silly qualifies me as a Communist destroyer of all things good and American!!LOL…. well, except it’s kinda sad to think some people actually do think that way.And BTW, no, I don’t watch Fox News… for one thing I have no TV…but I see plenty of their reporting and opinions in online articles, reprinted directly in newspapers, and reported in the news media I access, some in first person.I also know it was founded and is still somewhat controlled by Rupert Murdoch.Even so… I was merely talking about their sensationalised, ignorant news reporting and blowhard on-air “talent” ….. bias one way or another shouldn’t cause all that.Sorry this is so long!

Do not let Congress guard the US Treasury.

    Particularly the Democrat Republican monopoly.

Uh, more than $18 trillion national debt and they still give themselves pay raises and bloat their expense accounts & job subsidies & job perks & retirement plans & job benefits?
