Donald Trump is a lying, disgusting, narcissist who cares nothing about you. You are being exploited. The only people who will benefit from his election are the ultra-weathy and their minions. You don’t seem to realize that.

Facts didn’t die, they exist in a lot of hacked emails, they get called fake because they are embarrassing.

The nice thing about facts is that they don’t give a rat’s patootie about whether you believe they exist. Ask Pope Urban VIII.

Unfortunately, it seems a lot of my online friendsters have decided that the only “real news” comes from the Washington Post and New York Times, and that anything which disagrees with the WaPo/NYT version of reality is by definition “fake news.”

So when the WaPo published a story in which an unnamed source speaking off the record made vague statements about Russian hackers and the embarrassing (but apparently real, as the Democratic Party has never questioned their authenticity) Clinton campaign emails, it of course was instantly accepted as “real news” because WaPo and NYT would never publish anything not thoroughly vetted (except, of course, for all Judith Miller’s articles about Saddam’s WMDs and connections to al Qaeda).

But when I noted that the UK Daily Mail (a 100+ year old tabloid that leans toward sensationalism but has also broken major stories like the Anthony Weiner scandal) had reported that a former US ambassador, speaking on the record (with his name given), said he had personally carried the leaked emails from a disgruntled campaign staffer to WikiLeaks (something that could be considered confessing to a felony), I was accused of spreading “fake news.” Because, of course, it didn’t fit the WaPo/NYT narrative. Which is, by definition, the truth.

Sad that even on Brewster Rockit one can’t escape political sniping. :(

What we perceive as “reality” is an illusion but it’s best to react as if it’s real.

Even Ben Franklin said believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see. Fake news has been around as long as news has been around.

Facts have been missing from the news for decades now. This is nothing new.
