Isn’t Brewster in the Milky Way? The nearest other galaxy is 25,000 light years away, so it would take at least 25,000 years to receive a message.

Our grandchildren? Given a 200-year round-trip time, Dr. Mel must be very confident about the future of medical science.

100 years for “who’s there?” to be received, 100 years for the answer, 100 years for the reply of “(whatever) who?”, then another 100 years for the punchline. That’s more like their great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandchildren.

100 light years would be within the Milky Way, which is about 100,000 light-years across.

Perhaps you should have cut this short and say “Nobody’s here”.
