I remember getting a shot of penicillin in my butt once. The Dr asked me AS HE WAS INJECTING IT if I was allergic. I said no, but what would he have done if I was. He didn’t answer.
i was lucky when i was in basic training for the navy… being allergic to penicillin i couldn’t get the required shot… everyone who did had received a bad batch of it and got extremely sick from it
JanCinVV, we brought our three year old daughter in with a sinus infection. She had had an alergic reaction to C-Chlor before, and another shot would be traumatic if not fatal.
The doctor recommended an antibiotic shot. We reminded her that LB was allergic to CChlor, so make sure it wasn’t that. She said, no worries. So the technician tries to give our rambunctious 3yr old the shot, and she won’t have have it. Kicking, screaming, biting. Finally the tech tells me to hold my daughter while he gives the shot. I hesitate, because she doesn’t usually act that way. I’m not sure what’s wrong.
While I’m hesitating, and the tech is pressuring me, the doctor rushes in saying, “Stop! Stop! That’s CChlor!”. The doctor is white as a sheet, the technician looks scared. So we just went home and let nature take care of the sinus infection (which it did just fine). Somehow, my 3 yr old knew.

Susan001: Try getting bit by a presumed rabid animal. I got shots in places I didn’t know I even had!
And, the dentist skit on Carol Burnett was one of the funniest things that was ever on TV!

I wonder if Broomie did that herself; some people don’t like to be needled.
