A fair number of planes in the early days of aviation were pushers rather than pullers. They fell out of favor fast, although it would have solved a problem that arose in the earl days of The Great War when pilots shot their own propellers off. (Eventually someone invented a way to synchronize the bullets with the propellers and make dog fights safer… At least for the winner.)
Broomie, you should have consulted an aerospace engineer, Wile E. Coyote. He would’ve help you with broom add-ons! from Acme, when you deserve the best! ;-p

Actually, rather than trying to soup up the old broom, you should head on down to Witch Supplies Central and buy an all-new flying broom!
