I love Hobbes’ logic in the last panel. It’s almost like the good side of Calvin trying an alternate approach to reach him.

I do believe that Calvin is ambidexterous!

Well, if he throws the snowball with his left hand only that hand won’t get presents. Right?

Maybe, ‘Calvin’ thinks that he can still throw the snowball at ‘Susie’ but by throwing ‘left-handed’ there is a chance that he will miss therefore cancelling out the throw?

At this rate Calvin isn’t even going to get coal—expect nothing but lint at the bottom of the stocking, Calvin.

When will Susie learn to NOT go for walks in the snow?

A clear case of entrapment.

Calvin has presents in mind; Hobbes has presence of mind.Hobbes says, in effect, that “Calvin will not have presents of mine”.

This is an act of goodwill. He’s teaching Susie to be more alert.

Calvin cannot stay good for long not in him.

Anyone notice he switched hands between the first and last panel.

The way Calvin throws, he may not have to worry. He will miss, Susy will throw one back, and knock his socks off. And he still won’t have any good deeds.
