Boys’ toys are catching up fast. Yesteryear’s metal toy car or truck that cost a few bucks and lasted through incalculable abuse for years has transformed into a mostly plastic gizmo that is battery powered (with remote control, of course) and has a life expectancy shorter than the drive home from the store, with a cost into three digits that they don’t want anyway.
I don’t have the skills that Dad has for working with his bike, but fortunately I have friends who help. Five or six of us are going on a 36 mile bike excursion today. I hope and pray that my almost new bike (and I) can keep up with the others.
This strip just shows how great Watterson was at observing trends in society around him and bringing it into C&H. I’d say this strip has become even more appropriate since it was originally published. Another great C&H strip!

The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys!

I’d say the only difference is that adults have just been around longer…

If size matters to men and boys, what matters to women and girls?
