It’s good to be known for something…

If I were the teacher, I’d be so mixed. Kid may not know the answers, but he knows far more than the average kid.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess… Plymouth?

They’re good fiction, Calvin. We had a guy in our high school who specialized in writing outlandish answers like that. At graduation, they even gave him a special award.

I wouldn’t worry about my grades either if I knew I was going to stay six all my life.

I thought I’d memorized all the Calvins, but this was new to me, and I can’t stop giggling.

Calvin should actually get almost full credit for that one under the Common Core. Creativity and perfect beyond-grade-level spelling.

I thought the answer was 1620.

Just take the 5th.

In other words, Calvin doesn’t know where Plymouth Rock is.

We have several teachers in my family. My sister-in-law teaches grade school. Unusual answers are expected there.

My daughter-in-law teaches high school. I was there one time when she was grading papers. She had to laugh and read some ot them out loud. The scary part was that these were seniors – they can vote! I think this explains a lot of things about why our government is the way it is.

Truth can be stranger than fiction, but may not be as entertaining.

Well I can’t imagine the teachers sitting in the staff room with straight faces.
