If anyone ever wants to see just what comedy timing truly is, just watch any Laurel and Hardy shorts or movies, either silent or sound. Never in the history of comedy has anybody else even come close to their timing.

In their type of visual comedy, the difference between making you laugh with a true belly laugh, and making you cry to see an accident happen is less than seconds!!

Respectfully disagree Robert; Buster Keaton’s “The General,” in which Buster did his own stunts, may be the best ever. Unusually well-edited for its day, too.

Now he’s going to be late for his next class, that kid does have lousy timing.

You have to wonder if these sort of attitudes displayed toward the “Moe’s” of the world are result – or cause. If a “Moe,” totally not responsible for his size and appearance, receives this kind of treatment from everyone around him all his life, is it any wonder that he would begin to bully in response. Of course, he is always personally responsible for his own behavior, but do we make it more difficult for him?

You need to do this kind of “humor” from across the playground, Calvin

Speaking of comedians, Moe learned his slapstick from that OTHER famous Moe…….

I’ll be laughing all day . . . every time I think of this!

Although all the child characters (Let’s see, Calvin, Moe, Suzie ….. um ) anyway – they all are drawn in such a way that they can tie their shoes without bending over. Moe stops short of dragging his knuckles on the ground.

No good timing, Calvin!

There are many comedy teams with wonderful timing. Don’t think I could pick a “best”, but I want to put Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce in the running. They were the engine that made “Frasier” run for so many years.

Also, Harvey and Tim on the “Carol Burnett Show” and Vicki and Carol, of course.

Oh, and let’s not forget “the Golden Girls.”! No one’s timing was ever better. The list goes on—it’s very long.
