Calvinball is possibly the greatest game ever played. At least for those with imagination.

With those masks on, neither Calvin and Hobbes nor their games can be recognized.

I was thinking that Calvinball seems “Pallastrada” literaly Streetsoccer invented by an Italian novelist twenty or more years ago : both has the rule of having no rule and any rule can be changed during the game by all the players of the game itself

Now, see, if all football games were like this one, I’d be much more inclined to watch them.

@verticallychallenged: Today’s Calvin and Hobbes is from September 24, 1995, which is 20 years ago plus 3 days. It has “9-27” written at the bottom, but that has been modified for publication today as a rerun. The original strip says “9-24” in Bill Watterson’s handwriting, following the words that are written vertically at the edge of he panel:

mfhorn 4 said: “@Hobbes, Re the Peanuts cartoon – what do you mean ‘if it begins to rain, the dog shall be invited into the house.’? Dogs (and cats) belong inside all the time!

@mfhorn 4: Well, big cats should definitely be invited in.

I was always good at Badminton even though I didn’t play it very often. I only played it in our PE lessons at school.

I don’t know if anyone’s said this before, but Watterson figured it out: Life is Calvinball; Calvinball is life.

No, sorry for the confusion! I don’t recall where I found the photo, but it wasn’t a gift to me. I suspect “David” is proud to have it though…
