If he traveled faster than the speed of light, he’d actually be in the past, although technically nothing can can travel faster than light, but at that speed time slows down to virtually nothing. So the physicists say. Can’t verify it myself. I’m pretty old and pretty slow.
Even though Hobbes naturally had a tiger in his tank, he could only manage sub-light speed. (way, way sub-light!). To the best of my knowledge, only neutrinos are suspected to exceed light speed. We can speculate, but no one knows what happens to time at ftl speed, And scifi has been speculating for decades.
They failed to cause a sonic boom, but perhaps if they run fast enough past each other in opposite directions they can achieve the doppler effect. Go try that Hobbes!
I have been to the future a couple of times.Actually, I am the bestest future-traveller.Americans want the bestest and greatest future.Vote for me, and I will show you.If you don’t vote for me, you will have no future anyway. The other candidate never even promised you she had been to the future, which shows how unfit she is for the job.Put your future in my big and bestest hands.

Look closely, Calvin. You’re in the future! You traveled faster than the speed of light.

Face it Calvin. You’ll never be as fast as a Tiger Beetle (they are actually the fastest animal on Earth in terms of body length distance).

Nobody pointed out that if you’re the one traveling faster than sound, you don’t hear the sonic boom.

Don’t be disappointed, Calvin. CERN physicists had same reaction about LHC.

My favorite bumper sticker -“186,282 miles per second. It’s not just a good idea, it’s the law!”

Jeez… I feel so much smarter now, having read all these comments. Especially the one from Legal Eagle48… gosh, I didn’t know that… thanks for sharing.

I haven’t seen it in years. You’ll probably have to have it made.

Yes, Hobbes. It would have been.

The only time I see anything travel faster than the speed of light is when my wife removes some cash from my wallet…
