Calvin, be careful. You may not have that much to lose.

Just acknowledging “atrophy” will cost you 10 summer vacation points.

If I’d ever said that my grandmother would have sat me down with a good book for a reading lesson followed by several pages of arithmetic. If my brain wasn’t fully stimulated I could also count on a grammar lesson or two.

I’d like to recover in this landscape, too, beautiful landscape!

Summer vacation = free run of the library!!

Blast from the past: my highschool bestie and I got top marks in Spanish class for 4 years. We wrote notes and spoke to each other in Spanish from year 2. I went to college, she didn’t. I came back for break and saw my friend, and I spoke to her in Spanish. Her reply? “Oh, I’ve forgotten all that.”

After what? Three months.

The mind boggles.

It’s strips like this one that make me happy they don’t colorize C&H. They’d ruin it if they tried.

Growing up in the North Woods, I spent many a summer day like this (usually with my pellet gun leaning against the tree next to me). Great memories.

With Calvin’s imagination, there is no chance his brain will atrophy… see those specks in the distance: Alien invasion!

Enjoy being a kid Calvin, before you get older and have to get a job. Then it will suck the life out of you and will be a slave for the rest of your life to the all mighty dollar.

I guess I was just the opposite of Calvin. I always looked for things to do and explore.

That last frame is worth printing out and coloring in before hanging it on the side of the fridge.

I do apologise for not being over 50 like most of you before anyone says “How can you not know what that means?” Blah Blah…
