Is Calvin capable of going lower from the level at which he is usually?

Well what if the cereal has protein and the cartoons are educational?

You’d think they would have donuts instead. That was my Saturday.

I find most cereals are boxes of sugar with a little grain added.

Put them all against the wall and shoot them, then you’ll be a cereal killer….

OMG! THAT was the life! Ah how I long for the good ol’ days, sittin’ in the livin’ room floor with my Sugar Sugar cereal watching Saturday morning cartoons. Honestly, my whole childhood life in the 70s was centered around cartoons from 6 – 12 followed by the monster movie matinee.

Man. Life was sweet….and fortified with 9 essential vitamins and iron.

A couple of years ago, I was snowed in while on a trip. I was stranded in a hotel on a Saturday morning with nothing at all to do, so I decided to see what cartoons there are on Saturday morning. These poor, deprived kids. I had a hundred channels, and outside of a talking sponge, I couldn’t find anything!

Watterson comes across hating pretty much all aspects of American “bourgeoisie” society.

There are few Saturday morning cartoons on broadcast TV any more. I can’t imagine what kids watch if they only have broadcast TV, no cable nor Netflix.

With a name like “Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs,” I would think it’s safe to assume the nutritional value would be equivalent to that of some cheese flavored styrofoam packing “peanuts.” And I haven’t seen Saturday morning cartoons in my area in 40 years. They have been replaced by nature documentary programs, travelogues, or infomercials selling devices for lower back pain or legal representation “if you’ve been hurt in an accident.” Much to his mother’s dismay, I gave my 9 year old nephew three multi-disc DVD collections of classic Looney Toons. I understand he and his father spend Saturday mornings eating Fruit Loops and watching, Bugs, Daffy, Porky, Elmer, Road Runner, Wile E., and Yosemite Sam in perfect contentment.

Protein in “Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs”? I think the second panel answers your issue already! :-)

Broadcast networks don’t even show Saturday morning cartoons anymore. Haven’t for about five years or so I think. Instead it tends to be infomercials. At least where I live.
