Was this strip originally posted around Halloween time? If so, is it possible the Stupendous Man costume was originally intended as a Halloween costume?

Calvin should commit crimes if he’s in the mood to look for them.

Fighting crime? It’s so that he can throw buckeyes at Suzie without being id’ed.

Secret identities are to protect the super-heroes’ loved ones from dastardly criminals.

Not all superheros have secret identities. The Fantastic Four comes to mind.

Wow- I didn’t realize Stupendous Man was this late in the run. As a big comic book fan, he was always my favorite of Calvin’s characters. Sadly, they didn’t really have enough “Supervillain Names” to go around with the cast.

“Because if they knew my identity, they wouldn’t take me seriously! Is that why ALL super heroes have secret identities?!?”

The reason Calvin needs a secret identity, is because he’s the one respnsible for the crime wave.
