The next John Audubon.
Shave Hobbes and he looks like that Sphinx from Egypt.
Calvin , if you use that special cardboard box … her … time machine you could paint Dinos .
It looks like Calvin has found his muse!
Van Gogh did do a painting of a tiger. But it wasn’t happy about being painted swirly blue.
That’s the real story of how Vincent lost the ear.
I wish I had a tiger like Hobbes.
Looks like one of Cho’s drawing lessons in panel one, shame we didn’t get to see Calvin’s effort though….
Picky Hobbes. Picky.
Can’t beat a good tigerscape!
Now I kind of wonder how the painting turned out…
I’m back in drawing class. Hobbes is right — he is closer to yellow ochre. I remember learning the shades of color.
Missed his calling. ‘Mark Trail’ was looking for a new artist.
Just as well that Bullwinkle had a previous engagement.
I like the meta joke about which colors Watterson chooses for his strip.
Hobbs really loves to mess with Calvin.
One gets the sense Bill might’ve studied art formally in his early years.
Hey! Calvin! I resent that remark!
No problem. If you can’t draw or paint very well all you have to do is, do the best you can and then call it “art” and give it an interesting name.
A Møøse once bit my sister…
Wildlife won’t be so cooperative. Hobbes as usual has too high an opinion of his species.
If it has the ferocious face, Calvin is sold.
For Calvin’s second pose idea, Hobbes apparently did not initially hear the key terms, “fierce tiger” and “after a kill.”
Tigertastic posing Hobbes!
Pose that tiger…pose that tiger…
Next like stuffed toy tiger.
