Is there a Facebook for Dummies out there?

Isn’t Cathy usually the one slavishly adhering to the modern technology in the name of progress?

I absolutely refuse to do self-service vacation pictures. When I get back from a trip, I pick the good ones, put ‘em in a book and write up the story of what happened. Then my friends can read or ignore the stuff at their leisure. (And, when I’m old and in the home with Alzheimer’s, I’ll be able to read those stories and look at those pictures and say, “Who wrote that? He sure had a fun life…”)

Librarianintraining: yeah, definitely. The Marsh-Wiggle and I are kindred spirits, aware of all the things that will probably go wrong, but just crazy enough to go anyway.

Special “Narnia” bonus: In “The Silver Chair,” Lewis also makes the off-hand remark that centaurs have beer with their breakfast, “just like you or I would.” My kind of guy!

I agree with Cathy completely. I prefer a picture postcard rather than trying to navigate through a maze of electronic letters and pictures.

I made the mistake of asking a cousin to send me a few digital photos of her daughter’s wedding for the family tree database. She sent me a URL to the site set up by the wedding photographer with exactly 1, 224 photos on it! A little legerdemain was also required to get around his copy-protected site and snag a photo for the tree. :-)
