What happened to the dogs traveling with them?

The dogs are using the yard; they ran off to do so yesterday. My guess is the last one will be her announcing to her parents that she and Irving are expecting.

How do you know that they are not going to say they lost their jobs, the house has been foreclosed, all Irvings electronics have been repossessed, mold and mildew ruined everything in Cathy’s closets, and they want to move in with the folk? At least only one dog is pregnant.

    Toon in tomorrow.

I know that she’s working on an arc here, but this strip doesn’t even stand on its own. This whole last week has been a bit of a disappointment. Overall, I would say that Ms. G has squandered this whole final season… This season could have been so much better.. Anyone else feel the same?

omg i think she is pregnant i mean look at all the emotions shes feeling oohh yay for Cathy i cant wait till tomorrow. i think she is pregnant because she said “I’m so humbled to what comes next”. oohh i think she pregnant and about to tell her parents. yay yay yay! don’t u think so too?

also i think there should be a book with all the comics from the first one to the last one don’t u agree?

Wow, you are excited, sky3344. Yes, I hope tomorrows’ strip is a good one because this one is okay. But I think that Ms. Guisewite put a lot of her feelings into panel 3. As I’ve said before, this has got to be the hardest thing to do: say goodbye for everyone to see and critique.

Mom called Cathy “baby”. Might have a not-so-hidden meaning there.

Being on the east coast, I probably will be checking the last strip at midnight. Any one else going to check it really early to see what the outcome is?

it took awhile to be able to afford the C&H complete books… Does Cathy have the $$ to be able to publish one for “Cathy”?

I agree sky3344 - I think a books with ALL the comics would be great!

    I can’t wait for tomorrow - even though I’m a little sad.

After seeing the first week of strips (Thanks to one of the posters sharing it). I would agree with restarting the posting of the comic strip series. From what I saw, there was more humor and creativity in those strips than in later ones.

Our paper never carried Cathy back in the early days. The comics they carried in the 70s were strictly those focusing on entertaining kids. I guess nobody thought that adults would ever want to read comics, eh? :)

Just as long as they don’t all go to a Diner and are all talking when a stranger exits the restroom; all else will be good!

Everybody is making fun of Cathy today. Ok not everybody, but Pearls and Mutts. :D Mutts was especially funny: http://www.seattlepi.com/fun/comic.asp?feature_id=Mutts

I grew up (or grew older, anyway) with Cathy. I am actually both an older parent and a youngish stepgrandparent, so I can relate to her conversations with Andrea and Charlene and the decisions she and Irving are making. I will have a tear in my eye as she signs off. Thank you to the real Cathy Guisewhite for keeping us smiling all these years.

Thank you to both Cathys for all the years of reality checks to balance the unrealistic expectations we have for ourselves, due to advertising and societal pressure.

You have been therapy by comic for a whole generation.

May your future be filled with growth, appreciation and wonderful memories xo
