My non career wife is home. She sent children to school and was home when they came home. They did not stand an hour waiting for school or wait at the Y swimming class for 3 waiting for someone to pick them up. They looked at the swimming teachers as parents. They ate pizza for dinner.
You look the same skinny girl in Midland High School. Your face was so beautiful when it was more fully. I kept it through Vietnam to remind me of home.

Please do not encourage more unhealthy views of body image, and especially not Cathy’s! I am only concerned with eating healthy foods and getting exercise and sleep, and how my body looks is just a result of that, not at all what I’m concerned with. Good morning, Cathy clan! Going to visit my mom tonight, be back Sunday night. Have a nice weekend, friends!

He’s commenting on his wife and her being able to stay at home to be a mother to his children. Then he is pointing out that children of that era, whose parents worked, looked at other adults as parents. Instead of warm, homey meals, those children ended up eating pizza more often that not… Then he is saying how much he kept his beautiful wife’s image in his mind while he was in that h***hole that was Vietnam. (midland1967…I hope I got this right). ;)

My wife was a housekeeper so she worked hours that could meet our kids needs. People fought over her because she is a perfectionist. She was a successful small business owner.
Why have kids if they are total strangers to you. My friends are raising their grandchildren. I love the answer when I ask a young guy about his friend’s bride to be. “She is hot.”
My wife is hot, but she knew how to nurture two children.
I enjoy my time in Vietnam. I grew up a lot. I learned to respect people no matter their race. As a minority, I found that military aggressively try to integrate unlike private sector.
As Naval officer, I stood 8 hours on the bridge on aircraft carrier. That operating the ship at sea. I had division of 115 people. The first guy I saw get killed was an A-7 driver. He had a cold cat (no stream) to launch. The air boss screamed to punch out. He froze. He rolled over the front. In the Gulf, we went 30 knots to launch. We ran him over.
If he punched out, he would dropped behind the carrier.
What you made of in the heat of battle?
