Cathy Classics by Cathy Guisewite for September 25, 2014
Transcript:
Cathy: Look how pretty I was then. I thought I was so ugly. Mom: I told you you were pretty, Cathy! Cathy: I know you did...but I wouldn't listen. I thought you were just being my mother. Mom: I told you how beautiful you were every day of your life! Cathy: I let insecurity control me and ruin my youth! LOOK AT ME! I WAS A BEAUTIFUL, FABULOUS LITTLE PERSON! Mom: Just as you are now! Cathy: NOW?? Oh, please. Now I'm old and wrinkly! Mom: A mother's brilliance only truly shines in retrospect.

Been there, done that. I like most of the pictures of myself when I was younger. Now, I would have more pictures of myself, but I’m usually the one holding the camera.Hello Cathy friends! Have a great Thursday!

Aack! I agree with Cathy’s mom! I always felt ugly, still do but i see beauty in my 13 year old daughter who looks a lot like me. Of course she doesn’t see it. @lightenup I’m the same way.-————————————————————————————————————-Good morning Cathy friends! Long time no see! :-)

Why is it we women never seem to be satisfied with what we see in the mirror or hear from our significant others?!

It’s so true — my Mother always told me I was beautiful, but she was “just my Mom,” so I never believed her. The things we don’t appreciate until they are gone, AND the dissatisfaction with ourselves as women — amazing!!

She’s modest, too, ain’t she?
