Mom: "Miscellaneous pampering: $1500"?? Cathy: Doesn't the bride deserve a manicure and pedicure, Mom? Mom: Well, yes... Cathy: And a facial? Mom: Yes, well... Cathy: De-stressing hot rock massage? Mom: Well, um... Cathy: Aromatic sea mineral scrub? Eucalyptus steam treatment?? Don't I deserve a six-month glycolic cell rejuvenation program?? Mom: (My generation came from a gene pool....hers came from a gene spa.)
I did my own hair and nails, my own makeup etc., and I was young enough that I didn’t need the 6 month rejuv whatever. I did have help putting on my dress, that was about it. What girls/women put themselves through now to get married is way over the top.
