If I had the energy to go through the home buying process again, I’d get a 4 bedroom house with a basement and some room to use for an office, and that’s it. A screened porch/sunroom would be a bonus..I’ve gotten 2 houses with the thought that I would have a lot of guests, or it would be okay to compromise on what I wanted, or we’d do something new and different in the new house. It’ll never happen. Just buy a house for what you do now and that is usually just fine (unless you’re just starting out your family, and haven’t decided on how many kids you’ll have).hello Cathy friends! We luckily got a 4 bedroom house….didn’t need an office at the time, but now I work mostly from home. Also nice to have an exercise room. We added a first-floor laundry and a sun room.
