Voice from iPod: Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go... depending on whose Grandmother's turn it is... Mom: Dad and I will miss you, Cathy, but it's your turn to have Thanksgiving with your in-laws, and we want you to have a wonderful time! I don't want you longing for the tastes of home... so I made a whole turkey dinner yesterday and packed it in Ziploc bags for your trip. I don't want you sad because your dogs aren't there... so I made an album and DVD of their cutest moments for you to take along. I don't want you feeling lonely, so I embroidered scenes from Thanksgiving past and sewed them into a quilt you can wrap around yourself while you're gone. Cathy: WAAAHH!! Dad: Way to let go, dear. Mom: Why just give her wings when I can also pack an in-flight snack and carry-on bag?

All of that sounds really nice, but Cathy’s mom really does need to let her go and live her life. Sure, we all want our children near us at the holidays, but after they get married, you have to learn to share them.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Sunday! hendelca, how did the dance recital go? I sure love watching them, but I can’t imagine the work that goes into them. Have a great day, all!

On the other hand, Cathy is going to need every bit of this when her mil starts running roughshod over her….should just bring Mom along.
