Give it up. If the pots and pans are clean enough for her mom, something else won’t be. I’d work so hard to have it perfect only to have Mom ask my dad to start polishing something. Just be pleased with your efforts and don’t worry about making it good enough for her.
Thanksgiving is still ten days away. How does Cathy plan to eat if she doesn’t do any cooking between now and Thanksgiving (and does it REALLY take ten days to bring everything up to “Mom” standards)?
