Wow, should have figured. This is so like my sister… she never has a positive comment for me. Even her compliments are wrapped in insults (“you know, you’d look really good if you fixed that bump on your nose”). Wish me luck as I visit her for Thanksgiving. Thank God, she has told us that we can’t stay at her house this year. At first, it was a bit insulting because we have stayed at her house for years, NY is not cheap, and apparently her NY in-laws can stay there, but we can’t. But now I am happy to not have to pretend like we are friends, and I don’t have to listen to her constant comments that are indirect ways to put me down. (One that I remember from last year was said to Lil when it came up that she was in a hip-hop dance class: “oh you must get your moves and rhythm from your dad because your mom can’t dance”, which is totally not true. Not only do I like hip-hop, but I used to tear the dance floor up back in the day and still have some moves. But she wouldn’t know because we’ve never gone out together nor have we talked about our personal lives much. Oh and my husband totally admits that he can’t dance.) Sigh… people who can’t say anything nice really stink, and the older I get, the less I want to be around them.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Saturday! I hope you all had a good day!
