Did she just get a cashmere sweater for $2.50? Why would anyone be upset by that?

It’s probably for herself, anyways.

If this really bothers her, then use more coupons to get more items to add to the gift until it reaches the amount that she feels is adequate to spend. I never liked these story lines where she agonizes over how much she really spent on a gift. I don’t think most people will analyze that, and if they want to return something then that’s their issue.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Sunday! I hope our friends in the US had a nice Thanksgiving! Mine was good. It was really nice to see my mom, and it wasn’t as bad as usual with my sister, so I’m thankful for all that. Have a great day, all!

Hey—I, too, am all in favor of saving a few bucks. Plus, now Cathy could, in theory, buy something else as an extra gift …

I’m glad you had a good Thanksgiving, lightenup…glad your Mom is ok….As for Cathy…If somebody wants to return a gift that I spent the time and money on (unless it’s just for a different size or color), they can take what they get…
