I think a lot of us can commiserate with Cathy re: saving old magazines! I’m willing to bet millions of people out there have stacks and stacks of favorite magazines stashed in the back of a closet…..lol
Some of those ideas are cute. But unless you are quick and already have all the supplies, then people usually don’t finish these projects and they just sit around. Fortunately, I’m pretty realistic and never even start them, but I do admire the ideas.

Cross stitching is about as crafty as I get. I’ve been doing it for 30 years now so I’m very good at it but it’s very meticulous, time-consuming work, which also means that I’m not very fast at it. So if I know that I’m going to stitch something for someone and it’s very large and/or detailed, I’ll get started on it right after the first of the year in order to make sure I get it done in plenty of time. Thankfully I’ve never missed a self-imposed “deadline” yet but if I ever do, well, then, there’s always the next Christmas! ;-)

As for Cathy, I gave up on the craft mags a long time ago…I used to knit scarves, but as the nieces and nephews multiply, it’s too hard to keep up. Last couple of years I’ve made some needle felted ornaments which are much quicker and so much fun…..
