Sometimes you just need a cup of water to make you feel full so you don’t eat empty calories. And none of the things that Cathy bought are going to fill her up or give her any good nutrition. Maybe if she had a breakfast or snack with fiber and some protein, she wouldn’t feel the need to eat sugary snacks that will make her feel “hungry” again soon after. Oh well…

The problem is that sugar is addictive plus it makes you hungrier. Decades ago, I was puzzled why I would get depressed late in the afternoon at work even though nothing was wrong. I added it up and realized I was eating too many sugary snacks and ending up with a sugar crash. So I cut all sugar out of my diet. For three weeks I would have intense cravings for sugar and that’s when I realized what an addiction it is. They ended and I’m happy to say that I can now have something sugary with a meal now and then and problem. It was a bizarre experience. Alas, I do not see Cathy willing to undergo three weeks of cravings. I do not see Cathy willing to undergo three minutes of cravings.
