That’s a terrible gift. She must not like Lori very much. If I received that gift it would just make me want cupcakes every time I looked at it.

For me, situations like this is the absolute BEST part about having a hobby like cross stitch-ing. If I make someone a pretty bookmark, a framed monogram, some cute ornaments for their tree, a trivet for their kitchen, a set of coasters for their living room to put their drinking glasses on, etc., then I know there’s no chance in the world that 47 other people are going to give them the EXACT same thing for Christmas that I am. The people I care enough about to put that kind of thought, time and energy into their gifts have always loved everything I’ve ever made for them ….. and that’s all that really matters to me! ♥
P.S.: The same thing applies for birthday, wedding, anniversary, and baby gifts too: no one will ever get the same thing twice if I make something special just for them! :-)
