Woman: Every woman who ever lived in my family has had big thighs......there's no way my thighs aren't going to be big! Cathy: I'm predisposed to have a thick waist and a problem rear, and......voila! Woman: It's genetically impossible for my thighs to get and stay thin! Cathy: A thick waist and problem rear are encoded in my DNA! Women: THIS IS WHO I AM! MY GENETIC POTENTIAL FOR FITNESS HAS BEEN REALIZED, AND I CAN NOW EAT DESSERT WITH A CLEAR CONSCIENCE! Man: My genetic potential for commitment is used up. I have to go meet someone else now. Woman: QUITTER!! Cathy: Men just don't know how to take responsibility for themselves.

I can’t use that excuse. My parents joined Weight Watchers years ago and lost a lot of weight and have kept it off. I’m definitely the chubby one in the family. And I will always eat dessert. Yum.

Well, men are hunters and women are gathers(if my high school lessons are still valid). If you think about it a little, it fits this particular situation pretty well.

Who knew Cathy would be a forerunner of latest philosophy about weight – be happy with how heavy you are. So I am happy being overweight (not really) but would be ecstatic if I lost 20 lbs.
Final performance of “Sleuth” last night. I have not done lighting for an 8 night run for a long time. Felt good but still sad it is over. Now to gear up for “It’s a Wonderful Life” in December.
