I always print out my e-ticket, in case the computers at the airport have Window$.

I’m sort of liking the eticket on my mobile phone. I just show the phone to the TSA guy and put it on the scanner at the gate. Pretty painless really.

My daughter and I traveled 1500 miles to see the Packers play.As we got close to going to the game I asked her about the tickets. “I’ll download them when we get there.” she said. Augh! It’s 6pm in Greenbay on a Sunday and you are going to download them on your phone! Augh! Well she did, no problem, and we enjoyed ourselves. But still….

I always print out my tickets — I have traveled in two different foreign countries in which I had to show a paper ticket at the door in order to enter the airport for the return flight home. I had no warning that would be required.

There was a riot at the Champions League finals in France this year when automated systems failed to recognize the QR code of e-ticket receipts for thousands of fans. Over 200 people were injured. Not having backup for automated systems is a recipe for disaster. Having your paper copies isn’t foolproof but definitely a wise precaution.

The very first time I tried an electronic boarding pass, they told me they didn’t take them. It was another decade before I tried again.

This one caused another [eye-roll] that probably registered on the Richter Scale. And that’s exactly how I like things here.

So much for paperless…I just threw out a receipt from a drug store today…it was over 3 feet long. I wouldn’t even think of trying to depend on technology to get me through an airport. I do telehealth and every client appointment is a challenge.
