Cut offs and a tee shirt worked for most of the girls I grew up with. But, swimming in the Boulder River was pretty cold so the tee shirts might not have been the best choice, however, it was plenty cold for us boys too.
I agree with Chris – I will definitely not age peacefully. Cathy, it is simple. Wear a tee-shirt and shorts over your bathing suite. That way you are covered up and don’t have to worry about cold water as vaughnrl2003 alluded to. Wait, Cathy actually in the water? Still it would work.
I hope everyone is enjoying this fine Saturday (except for the smokey air). We are not too bad here today as the breeze is clearing some of it away.
I have no qualms about getting older, I am a Sexagenarian (that’s someone in their 60’s), though I don’t look it. I dress pretty casual most of the time, jeans and tops. I can’t remember the last time I wore heels (you couldn’t pay me to wear stilettos!). I also work out 3 to 4 days a week. I feel better about myself than I did in my twenties. If I find myself going to the beach or a pool, I have a tank suit in my dresser. Once you reach a certain age, you stop caring about what others think of you. Just ask Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Martha Stewart (an Octogenarian!).
One classic from Ms Guisewite had a salesclerk asking if Cathy lives near a beach, pool, etc. No Any plans to go INTO water? No, no no. but I have to buy a swim suit.

How times change, huh, comic Cathy? Though, age is just a number, or so they say …
