Call Diane and ask her which address she uses. Ask the Scotts how their adorable baby girl is. You don’t have to use her name that you forgot. Write down Joan’s maiden name and then the married name. Some women hyphenate, but she will forgive you if she hasn’t taken her husband’s last name. Congratulate Ted on his promotion without mention what that promotion was. Congratulate Sue on her engagement. There, you avoided all the pitfalls.

I find that a sincere “Happy Holidays and best wishes for a happy, healthy New Year” covers most of that. And then I make plans to get together, which is when I can figure out the answers to any uncertainties. Much better in person imo.

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Thursday! Have a great day, all!

Some of my brothers are peripatetic. I would call Mom each year to verify their addresses. Mom died this year. No Christmas cards.

I remember enough (or not enough) to let my wife handle the Christmas cards. When she can no longer do it I will have to program a little application to keep track of addresses – and a reminder triggered for the end of November to actually do it. I know there are applications out there (like a simple Word mailmerge) but where is the fun in that?

Another beautiful fall day to start off the winter season. There is a little more ice on the lake but still mostly open water. With this lack of snow and ice our local economy is going to suffer. We do get a lot of snowmobilers and ice fisherpeople from other areas coming to spend money here. Maybe we will get our normal winter for Christmas.

    Have a wonderful Thursday.

Hey—it’s tough to keep track of all these life changes for people. Seems like you’d need a steel trap of a mind. Personally, I am not one of those steel trap folks—ha.

    HI, MOM, Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
