I had a “starving actress” friend when I lived in Hollywood. If I took her to an ice cream shop, she would literally sample ten different flavors. If I took her to a restaurant, there was a long delay while she mentally sampled every item on the menu before ordering. Fortunately, she was brilliant and hilarious, otherwise.
My wife inherited this behavior from her family. It can be rather frustrating when nobody wants to make a decision that might not be the same as someone else’s choice.
My husband and I don’t eat out as often as we used to due to the ever-rising prices that restaurants are charging these days, but whenever we go to Cracker Barrel (which is one of my favorites), no need to ask anyone else what they’re having because I pretty much always order either the meatloaf or chicken tenders. Not because nothing else on the menu is any good (because it is!), but because I never make either one of those things at home, so on the rare occasion we go out for dinner, it’s nice to have something different for a change! ;-)
