In one of original cyberpunk novels “Snow Crash” by Neal Stephenson, a protagonist’s computer-controlled gun experiences a system crash on his assault boat. He withdraws from the conflict long enough to go online and virtually obtain the software upgrade for his gun. He downloads it and returns to the battle. Sometimes video just isn’t enough. :)
