@cleokaya and @ noicantspell Hallford You know, I was also “on the fence” re:onion soup mix, but decided to go with it because it really did add to it, and I remember liking it when my mom made it. But, that being said, and with all the other ingredients in this dish, it’s not a critical ingredient at all. Also, brown rice would work…no problem! Again, with all that’s going on, flavor – wise, brown rice certainly would not work against that. It’s that kind of recipe where you can really “tweak” it to suit your own individual taste. That’s what I usually do. I will make a recipe first the way it’s written, then decide what changes I’ll make to it the next time (if it’s a worthwhile recipe to make again). The golumpki recipe gives you the basics, and by all means, you should alter it to suit your tastes and needs. Enjoy!
