Back then, going to the movies meant getting freebies. Movie theaters and gas stations often gave away glasses or dinnerware with purchases. My parents’ “good china” collection was built up over time that way. And then there were the S. and H. Green Stamps, collected and pasted in books, and redeemed for all sorts of things, even appliances and fine jewelry.

Weekend At the Movies 2023:

Sitting at a “smart TV” scrolling through 500 streaming choices you never heard of, and falling asleep as you scroll.

(Not referencing anyone specific here, especially my mother-in-law…………)
