Seems like several of those “bargain” airlines are skimping on maintenance-this is a continuing problem since the first airline decided that outsourcing maintenance was a good plan. But given the problem the brand new bargain basement airline plane had on landing at Miami a few days ago I have to wonder, just how old are their planes? I don’t recall reading much about the MD-80 that had the landing gear collapse a few days ago for quite a few years(MD merged with Boeing in 1997-meaning even fewer members of the MIC)
