Man: Coach, how is Bailey doing? Coach Nordling: Bailey? Uhh-your son is demonstrating an incredibly high-potential for improvement. Man: You see it too?!
Poor Bailey, heâs so unathletic and wimpy that practically nobody believes in him. Even Chester and Harold come off as passive-aggressive when you think too hard about it.
He has âan incredibly high potential for improvementâ mainly because itâs impossible for him to get much worse. When youâre at elevation zero, either you donât move at all (which is likely), or you climb.
I find it interesting how many commenters feel that itâs necessary to âexplainâ the coachâs comment. It seems to me that with so many being able to explain it, it doesnât really need explaining. Is there anybody here who didnât âget itâ?

Nice recovery by Chester, his response is much better than the generic âHe is a hard workerâ or âHe tries real hard.â

So basically, itâs your way of saying that heâs the worst player youâve ever had.

If he was bowling in a handicap league, that would be great.
