Nice recovery by Chester, his response is much better than the generic “He is a hard worker” or “He tries real hard.”

So basically, it’s your way of saying that he’s the worst player you’ve ever had.

If he was bowling in a handicap league, that would be great.

Poor Bailey, he’s so unathletic and wimpy that practically nobody believes in him. Even Chester and Harold come off as passive-aggressive when you think too hard about it.

He has ‘an incredibly high potential for improvement’ mainly because it’s impossible for him to get much worse. When you’re at elevation zero, either you don’t move at all (which is likely), or you climb.

I find it interesting how many commenters feel that it’s necessary to “explain” the coach’s comment. It seems to me that with so many being able to explain it, it doesn’t really need explaining. Is there anybody here who didn’t “get it”?

Wow, “an incredibly high potential for improvement.” I like that! I’m going to start using it.

Linus van Pelt and I also suffered from “the curse of great potential”!
