The artificial tree company didn’t make any claims on the box about its being three-dimensional. And Lio and Dad do also have the decorated outdoors tree we saw yesterday! (P.S. Dad: put on some closed slippers, please! There’s a hole in your sock!)
No, cutiepie, instead of thse little wire things use thumbtacks or drawing pins and just think! tinsel, garland and fairylights will fo 3X as far (only 1 dimension to cover) and there’s be no worries about the bare spot (decorating logic dictates there is always one spot everyone accidently misses because when decorating en masse as it were everyone sees these moves things to cover it and creates a larger one elsewhere!)
A response from yesterday’s strip that could relate to today’s strip as well: This is from a kid who’s sick desire is to destroy all creation and live in a world of dystopia.
I love the dissection of comic strips…giving meaning to every little detail and utterance and assigning a direct correlation between the comic world and the real world. Distilling and separating the pieces so we can stare and pontificate about each little organ and ventricle. It really makes comics reading fun!

Great fake, I need one.

Throw it in your fireplace when done for a nice warm fire, to recycle.
pbarnrob almost 15 years ago
You could do that with the real ones, but they go pretty quickly, Just keep the fire bottle handy!

Trying to decorate that thing is going to be a kicker!
lippone almost 15 years ago
They got this tree from the “Blazing Saddles” gift catalog.

Life is so much easier in a two-dimensional world – as long as you don’t move…
kfaatz925 almost 15 years ago
I say to Lio: good effort! (Perhaps you can just draw some decorations on. Or glue?)
Dapperdan61 Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Now that’s my kind of tree. Real cheap looks good from the front & no hassle putting it up & taking it back down
bald almost 15 years ago
put the tree in the corner and use a hot glue gun to put on the ornaments and lights, no one will ever know
guitarmutt almost 15 years ago
That is too funny.

Hey, what’d you expect for 10 bucks anyway, dad?

Great for small apartments!

I wonder if Lio realized the fake tree is made out of wood!
ninmas almost 15 years ago
7 ft tall? lio’s dad is almost as tall as that tree. tall guy!
Dirty Dragon almost 15 years ago
I didn’t know Dad had a glass eye.
pbuckland Premium Member almost 15 years ago
ninmas: He’s not that tall. There’s gotta be at least 9 inches of hair sticking straight up.
mancocapac almost 15 years ago
So Lio saves a tree yesterday, but today gets a wood fake tree that came in a wood box delivered to a store by a gas-guzzling vehicle?

mtatuli: Are you implying that this is just a comic strip and not a two-panel dissertation?
benbrilling almost 15 years ago
…It wouldn’t be make believe, If you believed in me.

That’s what you get when you buy a tree from the Dollar Store…
