Well, then I guess you can check out for this week, comicsexpert, because all the comments have been extremely favorable and I loved the R&R comics this week.
Haven’t most of this week’s strips brought a smile? Is joke writing superior to anything else that works in a comic? Myself, I have a positive experience just enjoying the composition of R&R panels and the balance literally drawn between expressiveness and economy. December 17th’s panel was a tour-de-force example, containing so many small touches which each carried a little extra weight, lightly. Noticing the extra special touches is valuable to me, confirmations of what expertise I may have at appreciating comics. Doesn’t any of that work for you?
@realman: apparently not. personally, theme weeks once in a while don’t bother me a bit. as long as the strip is funny or touching (or just flat out well done) i can appreciate it. i wonder how (s)he handles continuity strips.
Personnally, I loved the past week’s work. Well done, Brian. You’ve captured the spirit and magic of Christmas. And I would love to have a boxed set of Christmas cards like the past week’s work to send out for Christmas next year.
