nighthawks: It’s more likely Kurt Angle these days, but I remember Dick the Bruiser, his tag partner Da Crusher “The Wrestler Who Made Milwaukee Famous” and Baron Von Raschke.

they went to work for mcmahon and disappeared when they refused to become hulking steroid monsters. (and, no, this is not meant as a shot at a certain bald, blond, champion - though his “leg drop” might come in handy.) king kong mosca for ever!

roller derby was once described as “a sport created for people who couldn’t understand professional wrestling.” i always like them both. remember the bay area bombers? how about skinny minnie miller?

Skinny Minnie, Psycho Ronnie Raines, Earlene “747” Brown, and the living legend of the RollerGames, The Guatemalan Flyer, Ralphie Valladares. (And don’t forget Ann Cavello and the Bay Bombers from the other promotion.)

Funny how roller derby came back as a women’s only niche attraction.
