I once heard it remarked (of plane travel - but the sentiment still applies) âWhen allâs said and done, itâs better to be down here wishing you were up there, than be up there wishing you were down hereâ.
ben, youâre correct. point of view is everything. itâs either the bar stool or the floorâŠpick one, once youâre there it doesnât really matter anymore.
whatâs all this rip off stuff? great minds think alike. enjoy the toon and quit looking for ways to âripâ into people. if thatâs all you do, your outlook on a day is enough to make me âgagâ.
You can get a horse to do a lot of things, but I donât know about skis. Teeter totter, yes, eventually, things that donât move, trailers, but I donât think skis would be easy, and yes, this is exactly the way they think things look.
@ McMillan: Actually horses can recover from broken legs and go back to a limited usefulness. The trick is, it is an EXPEN$IVE proposition that can take more than a year. Were it my horse though, youâd be, er, dead on. I donât have that kind of $$$$$$, no matter how much I love her.
It is more expensive because itâs more difficult. Horses canât lie down and mend they have to be âslungâ and it takes an awfully long time to heal. Constant checking by a vet, many antibiotics, etc.
So Lucy better not break her leg! Looking at the real size of the mogul I donât think their is much chance of a break.

I know the feeling, but once you are up there, there is only one way down.

What, no release bindings?

I see Lucyâs point. Humans recover from broken legs, horses donât.

Anyone else put in mind of Calvin & Hobbes? It seems to remind me of them almost panel to panel!

Does Bill Waterston know youâre ripping him off, Wiley?
You know how protective he is of his characters, period,
I shudder to think what he thinks of anyone thinks of doing his running gags..

Love Wileyâs Lucy and Danae. I know Iâve asked my horse to do some pretty stupid things.

This type of comic predicament has been around long before Calvin & Hobbes. Nobody is ripping off anybody else.
If originality was easy every one would be Picasso.

Good one Wiley!

Actually, horses tend to plunge right in, where a mule will hesitate for consideration- but most ill effects are from the stupid human tricks.

Excellent story and artwork!

The advantage mules have is that they can see their feet, and pick their steps. Horses have to trust their human to look out for them.

I bet Cow and Boy never had these problems.
