This may be a callback to an earlier strip Dana created.

What of the chewed gum to be found stuck to the bottem of every desk and chair? What tales might they portend?

I thought she was younger than a fourth-grader.

Beatles and Elvis are great, but OZZY is cool to scratch into the surface of the desk when bored. Tho for my money, it’s gotta be Def Leppard. :)

Im reminded of all the times when I would go to a new class and check threw the books to see if the last kid had left any thing. Often you would get a desk or a text book or a slice of wall with some thing funny on it to the name of some one you knew or whatever. now if a school cleans and updates then all that history is wiped out.

Guess it couldn´t keep running with showing Marigold in every cartoon :)

reminds me of being in lecture halls at University of Toronto (yeah, the let me in) and seeing stuff carved on the tables like “2T9” which is what was on the graduating class’s jacket in 1929. Kinda blew my mind. Wonder what it would be like in, say, Oxford…

I think if she meant one of the title characters from her old comic Ozy and Millie, she would have spelled it accordingly; after all, she wrote it for 11 years (12 counting when it was a college paper strip, if my memory serves me correctly). Ozzy Osbourne fits this context better than Ozy Llewellyn does.

And while we’re on rock bands, I’ve been known to have an obsession with Guns and Roses, and I think they’re pretty good.

Now that we’ve found Ozy, maybe Phoebe will run into Millie – please….

Now that Phoebe found a unicorn, I wonder if she will find other mythical creatures, like the gnomes that live in her house, or the elves, nymphs and fairies in the woods or the gremlins in the car?
